Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including anyone using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard alone, browsing at high zoom, or relying on a device with a small screen.

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Private businesses in the UK are not bound by the public sector accessibility regulations, but the Equality Act 2010 requires reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. We treat WCAG as the practical measure of that.

What we have done

• All content is reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
• A skip link lets keyboard and screen reader users jump past the navigation
• Semantic HTML throughout, with landmarks and a logical heading order on every page
• Text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio against its background
• Images and illustrations carry text alternatives; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology
• Pages reflow to a single column on small screens with no horizontal scrolling
• Text resizes without loss of content or function
• No content flashes or auto-plays audio or video
• The practice panel on the home page rotates on its own. It pauses when you hover or focus it, stops permanently the moment you choose a panel yourself, and does not rotate at all if your system asks for reduced motion — which satisfies WCAG success criterion 2.2.2, Pause, Stop, Hide
• Form fields have permanently visible labels, not placeholder text standing in for them
• Smooth scrolling is disabled automatically for anyone whose system requests reduced motion

Known limitations

Our contact form is provided by a third party. Once you submit it, you are handed to their pages, whose accessibility we do not control. If that causes you difficulty, contact us by email or telephone instead and we will help.

This site has been built against the guidelines and checked by its authors. It has not yet been independently audited, nor tested with a full range of assistive technologies by their regular users. We would rather say so than claim a level of assurance we have not earned.
